Systems Point of Entry (SPE)
serves as the centralized information, education and referral center for the
Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health (OMCFH) Programs. The functions
of this unit include the following:
Serves as the receiving point
for statewide applications made to the Children with Special Health Care
Needs (CSHCN) Program.
Operates the federally mandated
statewide toll-free hotline required for all agencies receiving Title V
funds.
Provides access to health
information resources at the community level.
Provides individualized care
referrals and coordination of education and health resources for individuals
not eligible for the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)
Program.
Coordinates access to prenatal
care for low income pregnant women without resources for care. Explore
local health care financing, including Title V, for low income pregnant
women who are not eligible for Medicaid.
Serves as a data repository
collecting information about the demand for services which exceed current MCFH program capacity.
