Office of Nutrition Services

Jefferson County WIC Program

We provide services to nearly 800 Jefferson County families, and we're growing.

We offer a variety of benefits in our office, ranging from breastfeeding support to nutrition education.

One of the special things we do at the Jefferson WIC office is participate in a baby item "trade" program.  As babies grow, so do their needs. Mommies and Daddies that participate in the program, find a lot of joy by donating the baby items they no longer need to families that do. If you have any questions about this program, please call Jenny Walton at 304-725-2028.

Need breastfeeding help?  Katie Reid is our Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.

Our nutritionist is Deborah Fredricks. Deborah has a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition. She has experience in child and adult nutrition, physical fitness and has worked for many years as a chef.  The Jefferson WIC office is very happy to have her on board.

Deborah provides nutrition education and support to parents and expecting mothers, and she has lots of ideas on how to help increase your child's intake of nutritious foods.  Have a picky eater?  We encourage you to come see Deborah!

To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call us at 304-725-2028.

We look forward to hearing from you!
