Though proudly claimed by West Virginia, Pearl Sydenstricker Buck spent only months of her life in West Virginia. Moving to China at 3 months, she spent most of the first forty years of her life there, often in perilous situations. She was the first U.S. women to win the Noble Prize for literature and promoted humanitarian causes. Take the interesting tour of her birthplace when you are in the area. Learn more about the amazing Pearl Buck.
