Belted Kingfishers are common residents along West Virginia streams and lakes. They are very vocal birds but are hard to approach. This Kingfisher was along the shore of Spruce Knob Lake. To learn more about Kingfishers, go to: Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. Can you identify the sex of the bird in the photograph?
