WV BTT offers “lunch-n-learn” trainings that provide valuable resource information for our WV Birth to Three providers and families. Information presented covers state and national resources that support families in raising young children with or at-risk of developmental delay. Each pre-recorded session is approximately one-hour and provides an insight on programs that will benefit all families. Children with Disabilities Community Services Program

How do children and families find support for the costs of medical needs and developmental challenges when the child is not eligible for SSI? The Children with Disabilities Community services Program (CDCSP) allows children with significant medical needs and developmental challenges to receive WV Medicaid needed services in their homes rather than in an institutional setting. Join us for this session to learn more about the CDCSP levels of care, process for application and next steps for families.

WIC

The West Virginia Women, Infants and Children’s Program (WV WIC) provides nutrition, health education and other services, free of charge, to pregnant women, mothers, infants, and children up to the age of five. WIC teaches moms what to eat while pregnant or breastfeeding and what to feed their growing children. WIC helps families 9-23-20 save on groceries so they more money to spend on other items. Learn the Signs

Describe how Learn the Signs, Act Early” can provide educational materials to families and community partners. Find out about the “Developmental Milestone” app for use with families and how to order materials to share. Updates on referral processes to Help Me Grow and Home Visitation and work around discussing social determinants of health with families and linking with needed resources.

HealthCheck

The HealthCheck Program works with health care providers to ensure that West Virginia children receive well child screens. Well child visits allow health care providers to make sure your child is healthy and growing and developing appropriately. They give parents and other caregivers a chance to ask questions and discuss concerns they may have. Well child visits can detect health problems early and, in some cases, prevent health problems from occurring. You will be given an overview of services we provide plus current updates to keep you informed of recent changes. –

 

Early Childhood Immunizations

Immunizations are critical for the current and ongoing health of young children. This session will assist you in understanding the resources available to WV families. You will also become more informed about vaccine preventable diseases and what you can do to support immunization activities.

WV Home Visitation

An overview of the West Virginia Home Visitation Program and services offered through the home visiting programs (Parents as Teachers, Healthy Families America, Early Head Start and Right From the Start).  A summary of outcomes and benchmarks from the federal Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) in West Virginia.  How can home visiting and RFTS coordinate with Early Intervention and how to make a referral to programs.  In addition, an update on some special projects related to continuous quality improvement (CQI), maternal mental health and Maternity Services.
