Raccoon Oral Rabies Vaccination (ORV) Project West Virginia's oral rabies vaccine baiting for raccoons was conducted in September 2002. The purpose of this baiting was to vaccinate raccoons against rabies. Several counties are again conducting active surveillance in preparation for the next bait drop sometime during late summer or early fall 2003.

Rabies Prevention - The Clinical Management of Animal Bites (requires Adobe Acrobat 3.0 or greater to view) - Printed in March 1999, this booklet provides information on such topics as handling a suspect animal following human exposure, commonly asked questions on rabies post-exposure treatment, and how to obtain rabies immunizations. Also included in the booklet are the 1999 ACIP Recommendations on Human Rabies Prevention.
