The WV Family
Planning Program offers services in approximately 148 clinics operated by county
health departments, primary care centers, university medical schools,
hospitals, physicians in private practice and college student services.
Federal Title X guidelines apply to all of our clinics:
Services
must be provided without regard to religion, race, color, national
origin, creed, handicap, sex, number of pregnancies, marital status, age
and contraceptive preference and must be provided in a manner that
protects the dignity of the individual.
Use of
family planning services must be an individual choice on a voluntary
basis and not a prerequisite to receipt of any other service.
Client
confidentiality and safeguards against the invasion of personal privacy
are assured as required by the Privacy Act.
Federal
Title X regulations require that confidential services be made available
to
minors without parental notification or consent.
While
funding is targeted to West Virginia residents, there are no county or
state
residence requirements to be eligible for services.
Title X
regulations prohibit the use of federal funds to pay for
abortions.
Charges,
if any, for exams are based on the individual's family size and income. No one is denied services because of an inability to pay. |
