Goal: To prepare participants to
plan, coordinate, and lead discussion groups for parents of young adolescents using Living
With 10-To 15-Year-olds: A parent Education Curriculum
Objectives: During the training participants
will
- review research on normal adolescent development and the
philosophical orientation of the curriculum;
- become thoroughly familiar with the curriculum's content,
structure, and resources, and learn how it is best used;
- identify and develop strategies for effective leadership
of parent groups;
- plan to implement the curriculum in their communities;
and
- work to each other to become part of an active network of
parent educators and others concern with the healthy development of young adolescents
