2001 Dead Bird Active Surveillance Area
At the beginning of the 2001 West Nile virus season (May
1), only
eastern panhandle counties were involved in dead bird active surveillance. Due
to increased West Nile virus activity in surrounding states, active dead bird
surveillance was expanded to include all West Virginia counties.
Dead Bird Active Surveillance Area Contacts
Contact your local health department during the active
surveillance period (May 1, 2001 to November 15, 2001) to report dead bird
activity in your area.
