The West Virginia Child Fatality Review Team was created by the West Virginia Legislature in March 1996. Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive and multidisciplinary review of each child death to reduce the number of preventable child fatalities In West Virginia. WVCFRT operates under the auspices of the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and peroidcally releases its findings to the public.
