Title	Brief 31: Caregiving in West Virginia, 2015

Resource Description:	This statistical brief reviews the prevalence of caregiving reported by West Virginia adults in 2015. A caregiver is defined as a West Virginia adult who provided regular care or assistance without compensation, in the past month, to a friend or family member who has a health problem or disability. This brief reports the percentage of people who selfreport as being a caregiver, the relationship between the caregiver and care recipient, the length of time as a caregiver, hours of caregiving provided per week, types of assistance needed by the care recipient, major health problem of the care recipient, type of assistance most needed by the caregiver, prevalence of risk factors and chronic diseases among caregivers, the sociodemographic characteristics of a typical WV caregiver, and the percentage of adults who are not currently caregivers but expect to be caregivers in the future.
