Appalachia Community Cancer Network (ACCN)

The Appalachia Community Cancer Network (ACCN) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded research initiative to reduce cancer health disparities in the Appalachian region through community participation in education, research, and training.

Cancer Information Service

The National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) Cancer Information Service (CIS)  is a national information and education network. The CIS is a free public service of the NCI, the Nation's primary agency for cancer research.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of the 13 major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is the principal agency in the United States government for protecting the health and safety of all Americans and for providing essential human services, especially for those people who are least able to help themselves.

Mountains of Hope

Mountains of Hope is West Virginia's Comprehensive Cancer Coalition. Mountains of Hope is comprised of more than 200 health care professionals, volunteers, cancer survivors, and community advocates from across the Mountain State. Coalition members meet on quarterly basis in the Charleston area and work together to implement the goals and objectives outlined in our state's ambitious comprehensive cancer plan. Mountains of Hope is the author of the WV Cancer Plan.

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of eight agencies that compose the Public Health Service (PHS) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Office of Epidemiologist and Prevention Services Comprehensive information on common diseases and vaccine recommendations for parents and healthcare providers.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Women's Health

The OWH was established in 1991 within the US Department of Health and Human Services. OWH coordinates the efforts of all the HHS agencies and offices involved in women's health.

West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources The DHHR administers programs that benefit the citizens of West Virginia.
WV Cancer Registry

The West Virginia Cancer Registry conducts active surveillance to identify all cancer cases among West Virginians, distributes statistical information, and conducts public education.

WV Comprehensive Cancer Program The comprehensive approach to cancer control is an emerging strategy that seeks to ensure that all of our state's cancer fighting organizations - from state government programs to non-profit organizations - are working together to fight cancer in every community on all fronts, from prevention and early detection to treatment, rehabilitation and end-of-life care.
