Growth failure is related to a wide variety of syndromes,
diseases or disorders of which many are not obvious or well-known. It is
estimated that more than two million children in this country are affected by
short stature. Many have a problem that may radically affect the quality of
their lives. In many cases, medical care can effectively treat the underlying
problem. The longer treatment is delayed, the harder it is for a child to catch
up.
Some specific growth disorders are:
Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
Constitutional Growth Delay
Thyroid Disorders
Central Precocious Puberty
Failure To Thrive
Growth Hormone Deficiency
Hypophosphatasia
McCune-Albright Syndrome
Russell Silver Syndrome
Turners Syndrome
