Wesleyan Graduate to Serve the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce

Linda Kay Wellings was recently elected chairwoman of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, becoming stephaniethe first woman to hold the office in the organization’s 70-year history.  Wellings, a native of Buckhannon, is a 1992 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College where she currently is a member of the board of trustees. Previously, she was an active participant on the National President’s Advisory Council (NPAC).

She is president and chief executive officer of MPL Corporation, an information technology company she founded in 1985.

During the past several years, Wellings has held leadership positions in the Buckhannon community, general business, and high technology organizations. She currently serves as chairperson of the West Virginia Commission for National and Community Service. She also has served as president of the Buckhannon Chamber of Commerce and vice president of Upshur County Development Authority, and the North Central Chapter of Software Valley for seven years.

The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in West Virginia for 70 years. According to the Charleston Daily Mail, about 90 percent of the chamber’s 1,400 members are small businesses.
