Mission Statement: The mission of the Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department is to provide the basic standards of Public Health. These include protecting, promoting, and maintaining the health of all the population of Upshur County. We may use many methods to assess the needs of the county and our ability to provide for these needs. We will strive to set community oriented goals and implement them in a timely fashion, either by direct intervention or by referral. We will try to be prepared and ready to face any threat to the public health including national emergencies or bioterrorism attacks. We will work closely with all community groups, counties, regions, and state entities to accomplish the goal of protecting our people.
