Campaign Goal: "To promote positive images and abilities of
persons with disabilities"
The West Virginia Inclusion Campaign is an initiative of
the Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau of Behavioral Health and Health
Facilities that is partially funded by the Center for Mental Health Services, Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This initiative is part of Acting
Commissioner Eugenie Taylor's commitment to implementing the goals of the Final Report
of the President's Commission on Mental Health. In particular, this initiative will lay
the groundwork for West Virginians to understand that mental health is essential to
overall health by initially raising awareness about persons with disabilities in general,
and promoting the abilities of all persons who have a disability. It is anticipated that
West Virginians will begin to see the inherent value of every individual and will in
turn focus on the individual first and not his/her disability.
