The WV Home Visitation Program will provide information on available trainings related to Home Visitation. Please check back on a routine basis to find updated training opportunities.
Parents as Teachers
Foundational training will be held August 29-31 and Model Implementation on September 1-2. The training will be held at Embassy Suites in Charleston. The training is being held through the collaborative efforts of Bureau for Children and Families, Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, WV parent Connections at Edvantia and Partners in Community Outreach. It will be at no cost to your agency. Registration fees, lodging, food and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Depression Screening/Reproductive Life Planning
Training
(Parents as Teachers, Healthy Families America, Early Head Start
and Maternal Infant and Health Outreach Workers (MIHOW) parent educators ) A
Depression Screening training conducted by Liz Cohen at West Virginia University
on the Edinburg Depression Screening tool and prenatal/post partum depressions
screening will be held on September 9th, 2011 at the John 23rd
Pastoral Center in Charleston from 9 to noon. Registration fees and hospitality
will be provided. CEUs (Nursing , Social Work and STARS) will be available.
A Reproductive Life Planning Course will be available on the afternoon of September 9th, 2011 from 1 to 4 at the Pastoral Center in Charleston. The training conducted by WV Family Planning Program staff will provide information on pregnancy spacing, general birth control information and preconception care. Registration fees and hospitality will be provided. CEUs (Nursing , Social Work and STARS) will be available.
