Your pregnancy may be considered “high risk” if there is a higher than
average chance of you developing complications.
|
 |
You can be labeled “high
risk” and have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. For example, you may be under
a lot of stress because you don’t have the resources you need to have a
healthy pregnancy such as family support, money, food, shelter,
transportation or other necessary things.
|
 |
If your pregnancy is labeled “high
risk”, the Right From The Start Program can provide you with a registered
nurse or licensed social worker to help you to reduce factors that could
cause you to have a poor pregnancy outcome. The RFTS worker may alert you to
symptoms that you are unaware could cause you to go into preterm labor.
