All babies are scored at birth for factors that may cause a risk of poor health outcomes and possibly preventable death between one month and one year of age. The WV Birth Score Office refers all Medicaid eligible high score infants to the RFTS Program for close follow-up during the first year of life and links the infants with primary pediatric services.   For more information, please contact the WVU Birth Score program.
