When you have a
positive pregnancy test, the medical staff at the site will assist you with the proof
of pregnancy and give you the “shortened” application for Medicaid.
Complete the form and submit the application to your county Department of
Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

What happens if I am
denied Medicaid coverage for my pregnancy?

If you apply and
are denied Medicaid coverage for your pregnancy, you may be eligible for
assistance for payment of some of your prenatal and delivery services
through the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health (OMCFH).

Once you receive a
denial for Medicaid coverage for pregnancy, your case is submitted by
your local WV Department of
Health and Human Resources office to the OMCFH for review. You
will be notified by OMCFH of your case approval or denial. To
check on the status of your OMCFH application you may call the
OMCFH office.
