Qualified Water Facility Operator
 

As a result of the passing of the Recreational Water Facility Regulations during the 2002 Legislative Session, all Recreational Water Facilities in West Virginia are required to have access to a Certified Swimming Pool Operator.

Approved Certified Swimming Pool Operator classes for 2009:

• February 19 & 20, 2009  -  Charleston area

• March 5 & 6, 2009 - Morgantown

• April 2 & 3, 2009 - Beckley

• May 4 & 5, 2009 - Charleston area

• June 8 & 9, 2009 - Flatwoods

Approved Operator Training Courses:

• Aquatic Facility Operator Certification Course - National Recreation and Park Association
  Certification is valid for three (3) years.

• Certified Pool Operator Course - National Swimming Pool Foundation 
  Certification is valid for five (5) years.

• Commercial Pool Technician - Aquatic Training Institute*
  Certification is valid for five (5) years.

• Hybrid Certified Pool Operator Course - National Swimming Pool Foundation**
  Certification is valid for five (5) years.

• Licensed Aquatic Facility Technician - American Swimming Pool and Spa Association
  Certification is valid for five (5) years.

• Practical Pool Management Plus - Aquatic Safety Research Group
  Certification is valid for five (5) years.

* Requires the completion of a West Virginia-specific course addendum and exam
** Online course that requires attendance of a 1 day class
