DISTANCE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:  

Remember, the WV Board of Registration for Sanitarians requires a roster of attendees as well as an agenda for all training you wish to have considered for CEHs.

 

 

IN-STATE TRAINING AND MEETINGS:  

  • Tri-State Environmental Health Association meeting will be held Wednesday, May 21st at the Belmont County, OH 911 Center.  The meeting agenda includes: Food Service Laws & Updates - Larry Holbert, R.S., Ohio Dept. of Health; Jarrod's Law & Virtual School Inspection - Gary Ryan, R.S., Health Commissioner - East Liverpool/East Palestine Health Districts.  For more information, contact Gary Ryan at (740) 317-1773.

Directions:  Take I-70 west to Exit 213.  Take a right off the exit and proceed approximately 1/4 mile north on SR 331.  The 911 Center will be on your right, under the large radio tower.

  • PHSD's 2005 Food Code Training - With the adoption of the 2005 FDA Model Food Code during this year's legislative session, training will be provided for all Sanitarians in each district on the following dates at the following locations:

    May 23, 2008            Boone County Health Dept.

    May 30, 2008            Mid Ohio Valley Institute of Technology, St. Mary's

    June 6, 2008             Hampshire County Health Dept.

    June 13, 2008           Monongalia General Hospital

    June 27, 2008           Raleigh County Health Dept.

    Each class will begin at 8:00 am and run until 3:30 pm.  It is advisable for each attendee to bring their own copy of the 2005 Food Code to the class.  Books may be ordered from http://www.ntis.gov/products/food-code.aspx  Breaks will be provided, lunches will not.  For more information contact Linda Whaley at 558-6727.

  • Environmental Engineering will on conduct Water Well Regulation and Design Standards Training at the locations listed below.  The training will outline the changes to the Rule and Design Standards with the recent Legislative actions.  For more information contact Scott Rodeheaver at 558-6713.

  • FDA Managing Retail Food Security course will be conducted July 8 - 10, at the Holiday Inn Fairmont.  Pre-registration is requested and no registration fee will be charged.  Enrollment is limited to 50 persons and seats will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. 

    This training is designed to explore various ways that risk-based inspections can be applied in retail and food service establishments.  Allen Gelfius with FDA will be teaching the course.

    Rooms at the Holiday Inn were reserved under "Health Department Food Training" at a rate of $62.00 per night.  Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 366-5500.  Send completed registration forms to Linda Whaley (558-6727) or Jessica Lucas (558-6999) by June 13th.
