Quality Control
|
The Quality Control unit
conducts statewide reviews to determine the accuracy with which DHHR staff apply
the various policies which govern eligibility requirements for applicants and
recipients of agency benefits. Each month, twenty-three (23) Quality
Control reviewers reevaluate a statistically-reliable sample of customer
benefit cases involving the SNAP (formerly Food Stamp), West Virginia Works, Medicaid (including
special reviews as part of the West Virginia Medicaid Pilot), and other
special projects as needed. The results of these efforts provide a
performance measurement of the integrity which the DHHR administers its
programs. The
functions of Quality Control are mandated by federal regulations in order for
the DHHR to receive matching funds for the SNAP (formerly Food Stamp) and Medicaid programs.
In addition to its reviews of those and other programs, the unit often assists
the agency with various special projects and audits as may be necessary or
helpful. |
