The Board of Review
is authorized under state law and functions to provide a fair,
impartial, and expeditious hearing process to DHHR customers and
providers who feel themselves aggrieved by agency action. By
affording the right to a hearing, the Board ensures due process of
law to individuals who are impacted by DHHR programs. The categories
of hearings include appeals by applicants or recipients of public
assistance programs, appeals of medical service denials, including
medical eligibility for the Aged/Disabled and I/DD Waiver programs
as well as grievances related to findings by Child Protective
Services or Adult Protective Services, and grievances by providers
of Foster Care, Child Care and Adult Family Care services. |
