Job Posting - Secretary 1, Legal Division

Under general supervision of OHFLAC’s Attorney, works 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Transcribes from tape and types a variety of legal documents, i.e. pleadings, general correspondence, forms, notices of hearings, notices of substitution of counsel, etc. Schedules hearings and meetings. Subpoenas witnesses. Composes routine correspondence, form letters and reports. Handles all FOIA requests, which includes invoicing, copying and redacting confidential information from documents. Performs clerical functions involving daily maintenance of office files, client files, setting up new files, etc. Performs all notary application processes for the office. Must possess working knowledge of all office equipment. Must be able to work independently, and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access. Typing is required.

Job Posting - Health Facility Nurse Surveyor I, Nurse Aide Program

Will work in the Nurse Aide Program evaluating initial program materials and survey nurse aide training and competency evaluation programs for compliance with state and federal regulations. Investigate complaint allegations of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident’s property in long-term care facilities, testify in hearings and attend other meetings as needed. Generate reports and submit evidence to the program manager relating to those allegations. Must be able to travel statewide, especially in the upper panhandle areas. Fill in for program manager as needed. Prefer someone with good written and communication skills and experience with computers both utilizing word processing applications and accessing the internet. Receives telephone calls and responds to inquiries requesting information regarding office procedures, policies, practices and program guidelines, and basic knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations. Travel required with occasional over night and weekend stays. May conduct survey activity for the Nursing Home Program as needed. Prefer someone with 3-5 years of recent work experience in long-term care industry and health education. Must have a current West Virginia registered professional nurse license.

Will also investigate complaints against facilities. Must be willing to travel to all parts of the State and possibly spend 3 or 4 nights a week away from home. Prefer someone living in the eastern panhandle area. Prefer someone with experience in computer generated report writing, psychiatric background and experience in behavioral health or have worked with the developmentally disabled. Job Posting - Nursing Director II, Assisted Living Program

Under general supervision, performs full-performance supervisory work in the Assisted Living Program. Responsible for performing administrative and professional work related to the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of state licensure for assisted living residences, residential care communities, legally unlicensed homes, and medical adult day care facilities. Monitors and evaluates the licensure activity of assisted living program activities. Performs continuous program reviews of health care facility regulatory compliance, placing emphasis on enforcement actions of facilities who have provided poor care and have not been compliant over time. Provides technical consultation and policy interpretation to the director of OHFLAC, public officials, advocacy groups, and the general public. Carries out and/or assigns special projects to survey and clerical staff. Provides testimony at legal projects to develop/comment on rules pursuant to regulatory promulgation. Interprets regulations to survey staff and providers. Composes correspondence and reports to legislators, health care providers, general public, and other constituents. Provides liaison to internal and external constituents. Prefer someone with experience in the areas of focus to ensure competent discharges of responsibilities due to the diversity and volume of rules and interpretive guidelines.
