Regulatory Development
The Safe
Drinking Water Act specifically serves to insure the
safety of tap water in the United States. Federal regulations
are codified in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and additional
material related to Title 40: Protection of Environment. The cornerstone of Regulatory Development is
Title 40:
Chapter 1; Subchapter D; Part 141 or simply CFR141. Public
Water Supply Regulations contain specific state requirements and adopt federal regulations under CFR
141 . The State
regulations may be found on the Secretary
of State's Code of State Rules website. The files are in
WordPerfect and Microsoft Word format.
If you have WordPerfect, Word or a compatible word processor, you can
double click on the document to open it or right click to bring up a
menu that gives you options on opening the document or saving it to
disk.
