The Audit and Rate Setting Division has three primary functions-
Cost Report Receipt and Tracking-The Division receives and reviews financial and statistical reports (cost reports) submitted by West Virginia Medicaid providers in accordance with Chapter 300 of the West Virginia Medicaid Provider Manuals.
Audits-The Division is responsible for conducting on-site audits and/or desk reviews of cost reports submitted by West Virginia Medicaid providers. The Division's primary goal is the verification and validation of provider cost report data and as it is used to calculate reimbursement rates.
Rate Setting-The Division calculates rates paid to WVDHHR providers (primarily West Virginia Medicaid) based on cost data submitted to the Division via cost reports. Adjustments are made to calculated rates to allow for adjustments found through the desk review and audit processes.
