WHAT IS MILLION HEARTS? - Million Hearts is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over the next five years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are the co-leaders of Million Hearts within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, working alongside other federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Food and Drug Administration. Key private-sector partners include the American Heart Association, and YMCA, among others.

Title V Block Grant 2013 - The public is hereby notified that the Department of Health and Human Resources, Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, is posting the Federal application to the Health Resources and Services Administration under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Title V Funds. The FY 2013 application is available for review at the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, or online at www.wvdhhr.org/mcfh/blockgrant from October 18, 2012 through April 30, 2013. Persons wanting to submit written comments on the State's FY 2013 application in preparation for the FY 2014 application may do so by email to kathy.g.cummons@wv.gov  or by mail to: Kathy Cummons, Director, Research, Evaluation and Planning, Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, 350 Capitol Street, Room 427, Charleston, WV 25301, prior to May 1, 2013.
