OMCFH Goals 

for the years 2001 - 2005

 

In 2001 the OMCFH Director and staff developed five over arching goals to guide program planning efforts

    

1. Assure the availability of health services for maternal, child and family populations to positively impact the health and well being of West Virginians
2. Reduce:
  • Infant Mortality

  • Incidence of Preventable Disease

  • Handicapping conditions among children

  • Need for in-patient hospitalization

  • Need for long-term care services

Increase:
  • Number of children sufficiently immunized
  • Number of low income children receiving health assessments
  • Follow-up and diagnostic treatment services including dental
  • Promotion of preventative health services to mothers, children and families through preventative and primary care services
3. Assure the availability of rehabilitation services for blind and disabled individuals under the age of 16.
4. Provide and promote community-based, coordinated care for children with special health care needs and facilitate the development of community-based systems of services for such children and their families.
5. Support through funding, special projects of regional and national significance, research, and training with respect to maternal, child and family health including children with special health care needs.
