West Virginia Division of Health Legislative Rule governing Clinical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Licensure and Certification (64 CSR 57) became effective August 1, 1997. CLIA-88 regulations state (493, 1423 and 493, 1485) that each individual performing moderate (or high) complexity testing "must possess a current license issued by the state in which the laboratory is located, if such licensing is required . . ." The license is renewable annually.
