John Manchin Sr. Health Care Hospital
formerly Marion Health Care Hospital
over
"A Century Of Caring"
Into the life of every individual, family, or community, there occasionally
comes illness, misfortune, or hard times. But a community prospers through its
people and through those who help the people. For over one hundred
years, John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center has been such a presence in our community.
Since its inception as Miners Hospital Number 3 in 1899, whenever illness has
struck, the residents of Marion County and the surrounding area have looked to
this facility for continuing health care.
In January, 1980, the original structure was replaced with a new building on
the same site. Renamed Marion Health Care Hospital in 1983 and renamed
again in 2003 to John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center, and continuing
to be operated by the West Virginia Department
of Health and Human Resources, this public institution continues to provide
quality medical care to its patrons. If misfortune or hard times have come
to you or your family and you have limited resources, remember that Marion
Health Care provides medical care regardless of income, financial status, or
insurance coverage.
