Adult Immunization Information The West Virginia Immunization Program is committed to not only keeping our children healthy but our adults, too. As adults, we have to take responsibility for our own health. Oftentimes, this means we need to check with our health care providers to ensure our vaccinations are current. Prevention begins with a simple question -- Am I protected? We have some links below that will help you learn about the vaccinations available for you. If you have any questions about any of the following immunizations, please contact your doctor or your local health department. 2007 Adult Immunization Schedule All of West Virginia's local (county) health departments offer immunization against tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap), pneumococcal and influenza. Additionally, the following local health departments offer immunization against shingles for persons 60 years and older: Cabell-Huntington, Kanawha-Charleston, and Mercer.
