Rapid Notification System

Division of Threat Preparedness Information Technology Specialist Dianna Gertz is the Health Alert Network Coordinator and is in charge of developing the rapid notification system. W.A.R.N. (Wide Area Rapid Notification System) has been purchased and has been tested in Wayne County, and is about to be tested in Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie and Roane Counties (Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department). .

W.A.R.N.is a Web-based notification service that provides an organization with instant, personalized and reliable outbound messaging, both internally and externally. Messages can be sent by e-mail, fax, mobile phone, pager, land-line phone, and/or short message service. Messages can be sent to one or all devices anywhere and anytime. The service allows tracking of the delivery of notification. W.A.R.N. will be used to send time-sensitive health alerts and alarms. .  

When the system is fully-tested, it will be used for all public health messages in the state. Dianna is currently working with Management Information Systems (MIS) to populate the database with contact information.
