Notification System
Division of Threat Preparedness Information Technology Specialist Dianna Gertz
is the Health Alert Network Coordinator and is in charge of developing
the rapid notification system. W.A.R.N. (Wide Area Rapid Notification System)
has been purchased and has been tested in Wayne County, and is about to be
tested in Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie and Roane Counties
(Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department).
.
W.A.R.N.is a Web-based notification service
that provides an organization with instant, personalized and
reliable outbound messaging, both internally and externally.
Messages can be sent by e-mail, fax, mobile phone, pager, land-line
phone, and/or short message service. Messages can be sent to one or
all devices anywhere and anytime. The service allows tracking of the
delivery of notification. W.A.R.N. will be used to send
time-sensitive health alerts and alarms.
.
When the system is fully-tested, it will be used for all public health messages in the state.
Dianna is currently working with Management Information Systems (MIS) to populate the
database with contact information.
