| For more information contact: Joe Thornton For immediate release Women's Commission sponsoring leadership development seminar The West Virginia Women's Commission is sponsoring a leadership development seminar featuring keynote speaker, D. West, as he likes to be called. West is a motivational speaker who appears regularly on the Maury Povich Show. The seminar is Friday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Chief Logan State Park Convention Center in Logan. This one-day seminar will introduce and expand upon the ideas of civic life. The skills introduced at the seminar will include developing a strategic plan for life, family and the community, managing personal money and learning how self-esteem plays a role in leadership. Commission Chair Wendy Thomas said, "Having the tools to be active in the community and be a catalyst for change is essential for personal and civic growth. This seminar will introduce many of these skills." West has a national reputation. He is recognized most for his unprecedented success with challenging personal relationships. West is also the driving force behind the renowned tough love boot camp and the host of his own dynamic talk show Tough Love. The seminar costs $25.00, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, workshops and the presentation of the keynote speaker. A limited number of scholarships are being made available.
