Chauncey PCB Site - Health Consultation
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources completed a health consultation for the Chauncey PCB Site, Chauncey, Logan County, West Virginia is available for public review at the Logan Area Public Library, 16 Wildcat Way, Logan, Logan County, West Virginia.
This second health consultation reviewed additional sample data from the United States Environmental Protection Agency from November 2003 through March 2004. The report concluded that the Chauncey PCB site poses no apparent public health hazard for the present from the exposures likely to occur at this site to either children or adults. As long as the land use in the area does not change, such as by building homes in areas where lead has been found in the soils, the Chauncey PCB site poses no apparent public health hazard for the future. WVDHHR concluded that the site posed an indeterminate public health hazard in the past because of the lack of data for the past.
A cooperative agreement with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry ATSDR, Atlanta, Georgia, and the WVDHHR funded this public health assessment.
