| For more information contact: Joe Thornton For immediate release DHHR to hold public comment period on health consultation The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Public Health, will hold a public comment period regarding the release of a recent health consultation in the Mingo County area, Williamson, WV sites. A public health consultation is a report of the evaluation of human health risks from a site that may have toxic chemicals. The report looks at the potential relationship between the chemicals in question and disease in the area. If a relationship is found, then recommendations are made to reduce exposure. The health consultation was conducted at the request of locals in the Williamson area who suspected potential exposure to toxic chemicals from area businesses. The findings of the report will be on display for public review beginning Monday, Oct. 27 at the Williamson Public Library, Logan Street, Courthouse Annex, Williamson.
