Understanding Stroke in West Virginia is a comprehensive examination of cerebrovascular disease, the fourth leading cause of death in the Mountain State. The report provides demographic information on hospitalizations and mortality from stroke among state residents, as well as a discussion of the risk factors that place an individual at higher risk of a stroke event. State data are compared with national data where available.
