1.On newsprint draw two large, bare trees to represent "Values Trees" (one for each smaller group). Prepare two sets of leaves made of construction paper with a different value printed on each leaf.
Values that may be used include:
respect for others
2.Pass out the leaves, one set to the young males and one set to the adult males. As the facilitator begins to discuss the various values and their meanings, the participants, with the appropriate leaves, places them on the tree.
3.Break the large group into two smaller groups of Adult Males and Young Males with a facilitator for each. (As quickly as possible).
4.Facilitator will continue their discussion of values while participants prepare worksheets for discussion during large group activity. Young Males complete worksheet "Testing My Values" while Adult Males complete worksheet "Personal Values Chart".
1. Bring the two smaller groups together and give each participant pair the opportunity to discuss their worksheets.
2.Close the activity by summarizing the need for continued communication and the constant reevaluation of their own personal values.
