This organizational unit of BHHF is managed by Victoria Parlier and is responsible for the planning, development, funding and monitoring of the following Acute Care Psychiatric Hospitals and Long Term Care Facilities:
  
Acute Care Facility:
Welch Community Hospital:  Provides acute inpatient and outpatient services to the rural population of southern West Virginia with emphasis on prevention and community education.

Acute Care Psychiatric Hospitals:
William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital:   Provides quality acute care treatment services,in a cost-effective manner, to persons suffering from mental illness.

Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital:   Provides quality, coordinated, cost-effective, acute inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults in West Virginia.

Long Term Care Facilities:
John Manchin, Sr.:   Offers skilled/intermediate nursing, inpatient and outpatient clinical services at the most affordable cost and in the most efficient and accessible manner, targeting indigent residents who are unable to obtain these services in the community.

Pinecrest Hospital:  Provides geriatric services to West Virginians requiring long-term and behavioral health care (who are not served by traditional health care systems) to improve their functioning ability and independence.

Hopemont:   Provides quality, efficient and economical services to geriatric residents of West Virginia requiring long-term care and behavioral interventions to maximize their functioning ability and independence, enabling them to become successful and satisfied in their environment.

Lakin Hospital:   Provides quality nursing long-term care services to West Virginia residents who have special placement needs due to behavioral, developmental and other complex problems and to whom community health will not or cannot provide these needed services. Lakin Hospital continues to provide quality nursing long-term care services to meet the state's needs in utilizing the facility for under-served West Virginia residents.

Welch Community Hospital:  Provides acute inpatient and outpatient services to the rural population of southern West Virginia with emphasis on prevention and community education.

These facilities provide Medicaid certified, geriatric services for those requiring long-term and behavioral health care to thost adults who are not served by traditional health care systems to improve their functioning ability and independence.
