What if a child has habits different than our family?

You should expect that every child placed in your home will have some habits, values, beliefs, and ways of living that are different from your own. Children need acceptance as they are. They need to be given a lot of time to adjust and to learn the foster family’s style of living and expectations. Every family is different. Once a foster family accepts a child’s placement, there is an expectation that the family work toward achieving the goals of the child’s foster care service plan.
