What happens after I apply for Homeless services?

Category:
Homeless Services
Updated:
3/10/2003

If you qualify for Homeless Services, a short term plan (up to 7 days) will be developed and implemented by the shelter staff and the homeless person(s) to address immediate needs including emergency shelter, food and medical care as needed. If additional homeless services are needed after 7 days, a plan for continuing services will be developed and implemented with the goal of enabling the individual/family to become self-sufficient. Active participation in carrying out the plan is required. Homeless services can continue for up to a maximum of six months should this be necessary.

If you do not qualify for Homeless Services, information will be provided about other community resources that may be of assistance.
