How can I become an Adult Emergency Shelter Care provider?

Category:
Adult Residential Services
Updated:
3/10/2003

The requirements to be an Adult Emergency Shelter Home are the same as those for Adult Family Care Providers (please see article 30) with a few exceptions. Because this type of provider must be able to accept placement into their home at any time and because adults being placed are generally experiencing a crisis or traumatic set of circumstances that make placement on an emergency basis necessary, additional training and requirements apply to ensure that the provider is able to handle these unique situations. If you are interested in more information about becoming an Adult Emergency Shelter Care provider, contact your local Department of Health and Human Resources or complete the AFC inquiry form and someone will contact you.
