R Curtis Arnold, D.P.M.

 

                Dr. Arnold was appointed to the Board of Medicine in October, 2007, by Governor Joe Manchin III.  He has served on the Board in the past, for over a decade, appointed first in 1993 by then Governor Gaston Caperton, and reappointed by Governor Cecil Underwood.  Dr. Arnold is one of two podiatrist members of the Board and now has been appointed as a member of the Licensure Committee. 

            Born in South Charleston, West Virginia, Dr. Arnold attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.  He studied podiatry at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, obtaining his D.P.M. degree in 1986.  Dr. Arnold was licensed to practice podiatry in West Virginia in 1986, and from July, 1986, through June, 1987, Dr. Arnold participated in post-graduate training at the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington.  He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the West Virginia Podiatric Medical Association, and has been engaged in the private practice of podiatry in South Charleston for twenty years.  Dr. Arnold enjoys hospital privileges at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.  He worked with the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners in 2007, writing and reviewing test questions for the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners Part III, and he is a Board member of the newly formed West Virginia Medical Professionals Health Program, Inc.

            Dr. Arnold and his family reside on a farm in Hamlin, West Virginia, where he enjoys being with his horses in his leisure time.
