National Infant Immunization Week Celebration (NIIW) 2007 The West Virginia Immunization Program and the West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) sponsored a National Infant Immunization Week celebration, Thursday, April 26 from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. at West Virginia Public Employees Day Care in Charleston, West Virginia. The event featured West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Secretary Martha Yeager Walker delivering a proclamation issued by Governor Joe Manchin III. Special guests included Deputy Superintendent of Kanawha County Schools Joe Godish; Executive Director of the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department & WIN Co-Chair Dr. Kerry Gateley; West Virginia Immunization Program Manager Jeff Neccuzi; WIN Program Manager Kim Hively; and Hurdle the Turtle immunization program mascot. NIIW is a celebration designed to promote the importance of age appropriate vaccinations for children age birth to 2 years of age.
